Yes! Consuming hydrogen gas is completely safe. The FDA has even given hydrogen-enriched water GRAS status, (Generally Recognized As Safe) and there are over 1,200 studies demonstrating that hydrogen is safe to consume.

Hydrogen water is water with dissolved molecular hydrogen gas (H2). The hydrogen gas is separated from a stream of water using electrolysis. This hydrogen is then added to a second stream of water.

The hydrogen in water is chemically bonded to oxygen, so in order to get the true benefits of molecular hydrogen, it needs to be separated from the oxygen and consumed in its gas form. This can be done through the electrolysis process in the water machine.

Hydrogen water has been shown to reduce oxidative stress and inflammation, and has over 1,000 scientific studies published on the benefits of hydrogen.

During electrolysis, water is shocked with electricity, causing a small amount of hydrogen and oxygen to convert to gas.

Typically, electrolysis also separates water into acidic and alkaline water. However, the UltraLux Water Machine uses electrolysis to harvest hydrogen gas (H2) without changing the pH of the water, and the resulting water gives you the benefits of molecular hydrogen.

Infusing hydrogen gas into water with electrolysis does not add a taste to the water. The UltraLux Water Machine removes chemicals, metals, bacteria, and minerals from the water, thus producing clean, crisp, fresh water without taste.

UltraLux Water is perfectly safe for taking medications since it has a neutral pH.

Hydrogen gas lasts three to five hours in an open cup or glass.

Hydrogen gas can be retained in water for up to 10 days if the container is filled to the very top and is tightly sealed. After the container is opened, the hydrogen will last for three to five hours.

Not only is hydrogen a gas, but it is the smallest element. Because of this, it can escape through very tight spaces. So no, hydrogen gas will not be retained if you freeze UltraLux Water.

Yes! However, we strongly recommend that you install the UltraLux Water Prefilter in your line before the machine to extend the life of your machine.

RO stands for Reverse Osmosis. This process takes water from a low concentration and moves it through the filter to a high concentration by removing large molecule contaminants. The RO process is one of the most effective forms of water filtration.

RO membranes typically remove 85-92% of fluoride from water.

Prefiltration with the composite filter removes sediment that could clog or otherwise damage the RO membrane. In other words, the composite filter reduces stress on the RO membrane and extends its lifetime.

Having too many filtration stages strips the water of all minerals, which are necessary for the hydrogen electrolysis process. By having 2-stage, it allows enough safe minerals to remain in the water for the hydrogen to be produced.

Since RO membranes can filter out bacteria, that bacteria can get caught and grow within the membrane. The UV light kills any bacteria stuck in the membrane so that when new water passes through, it does not pick up any bacterial residue. The UV light also gets rid of any bacteria that the RO membrane misses in the water. Lastly, the UV light prevents bacteria and mold from growing inside the UltraLux Water Machine.

Since the UV light helps keep the inside of the machine clean, very little maintenance is needed. Simply change the CBPA Filter and the ROCB Filter when prompted by the machine’s filter replacement reminder. (See User Manual for instructions on changing filters.)

The UltraLux Water Machine is one of the higher-producing hydrogen water machines. The average hydrogen production for this machine is 1.3 ppm, but it can produce up to 1.8 ppm depending on water source quality.

If you choose to have a professional plumber install this machine for you, we will reimburse you up to $150 when you send us your installation/plumbing receipt!
